Why SAMELIS?
The name SAMELIS was inspired by Sami, Kefalonia, a coastal community on the eastern side of the Greek island of Kefalonia.
For us, Sami represents more than geography. It represents continuity — the connection between generations, place, history, and identity.
The brand was created as a modern expression of that connection: distinctly Greek in inspiration, but contemporary in purpose.

The history of Sami is a story of persistence. Ancient Sami was one of Kefalonia’s principal city-states and occupied a strategically important position along the Ionian Sea.
A historic city-state
Ancient Sami was one of the island’s important communities, shaped by its relationship with the mountains, agricultural land, and surrounding sea.
Resistance
Sami resisted Roman forces during a prolonged siege. The city was eventually captured, but settlement and life in the region continued.
Rebuilding again
The catastrophic Ionian earthquakes devastated much of Kefalonia. Communities across the island rebuilt, preserving a sense of place despite profound destruction.
Endurance became part of the story.
SAMELIS draws inspiration from that continuity — not as a medical claim, but as a philosophy of strength, adaptation, and renewal.

Mountains rise directly above the sea. Olive trees, Mediterranean vegetation, coastal villages, and brilliant Ionian water define the visual language behind SAMELIS.

The connection to Kefalonia is personal. SAMELIS grew from family roots tied to Sami and from the idea that identity can travel across generations, even when people live far from the place where the story began.

SAMELIS honors Greek heritage without trying to turn the past into a marketing gimmick. The goal is not to recreate an imagined ancient remedy, but to preserve a genuine sense of place and identity.

I have spent my career in medicine, but SAMELIS did not begin with the idea of creating another enormous supplement catalog.
It began with a simpler question: if I were building a small collection of supplements for everyday wellness, what products would actually deserve a place in it?
That led to a focused collection centered around protein, creatine, magnesium, omega-3, vitamin D3 + K2, collagen, digestive support, and probiotics.
I wanted the brand to reflect two parts of my identity: my background in medicine and my family’s connection to Greece.
